Family Portraits in Portland

Posted by Rosemary on November 28th, 2009

Well, it’s official… this kid is growing up fast. This was the last photo session of our first year documenting. We had fun chasing him down in the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in SE Portland. And when I say chasing him down, I really mean chasing him down! He’s full of energy and giggles. Fall is my favorite time for family portraits in Portland, and this fall has been especially beautiful. I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving!

I love my job! This summer I had the pleasure of planning and photographing Rich and Kevin’s lovely wedding at Timberline Lodge. It was classic and elegant, just like they are. They poured their hearts into every detail, making it a very special day. The live music by Matthew Kern and the Rose City Hot Club gave the day extra celebratory flair. Rich and Kevin made their own “eco-fabulous” wedding favors of a tree sapling ready to be planted, what better way for friend and family to remember this beautiful day. The weather couldn’t have been more clear and temperate. It was the perfect summer day in Oregon.

This Sunday I was blessed with the opportunity to witness and photograph the nuptials of Kevin and Rich at Timberline Lodge. We all had such a great time. The ceremony brought tears of joy to the eyes of all who witnessed it. This was my first attempt at wedding planning and design, it was really fun. I learned a lot and had help from some of Portland’s finest artist, florists, musicians, event planners and photographers. Many thanks to Brooke, Cara from Affairs in Bloom, Matthew, Andrew, Katie, and the Rose City Hot Club. Together we helped piece together an event that was very memorable and one that truly captured the style and grace of Rich and Kevin… If I don’t say so myself, tee hee. I’ve included a couple of gorgeous portraits of the fellas. There are many more to come, check back at the end of the month.

Kristina & Andrew tie the knot at Skamania Lodge.

This spring I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kristina and Andrew at Skamania Lodge. The air was filled with joy and anticipation when I arrived at the lodge that morning. Kristina prepared for the day with her mother, sister and best friends.

Andrew prepared with his crew of friends down the hall.

You could tell Kristina and Andrew were so excited to see each other.
The beautiful, glowing bride!

Kristina and Andrew had a lovely candlelight ceremony.

The day was beautiful with a mix of sun and clouds.

The reception was filled with happy friends and family. Kristina’s dad brought the house down with his heartfelt toast to the couple.

It was a pretty perfect day all around.

Take a look at the slideshow I created for the couple of their wonderful day.

If you just can’t get enough, check out all the photos from their day in the galleries.

Hello Kristina & Andrew fans,
I’m still working on the images from Kristina and Andrew’s amazing wedding, but I have a favorite that I wanted to share with you! It’s a little sneak peek, there are many more to come.
