 Alton Wise is a local tai-chi guru here in the Ford Building (where we have our studio) who happened down the way one day to see about having some portraits taken. Alton is a survivor of pancreatic cancer, and he wanted some shots taken for submission to Men’s Wellness magazine. You see, Alton has bounced back beyond all comparable measure, not only beating and surviving pancreatic cancer (one of the worst diagnoses anyone can receive), but looking pretty damn good, too!! Hopefully someday soon we’ll see Alton gracing the cover of every men’s health magazine on the rack!!

 We’re having such a delightfully busy December, with this hilarious holiday pet portrait session just one of the month’s many highlights! Alison and her turtle T-Bone recently came by the studio for a few seasonal portraits, and their session definitely marked the first time we’ve ever photographed a turtle. We couldn’t have asked for a better first time turtle photographing experience! Alison chose this great shot for her holiday cards…we love it!  We just love shooting couples portraits, especially when the couple is as genuinely meant-for-each-other as the wonderful Samar & Meredith. These two have been together for 14 years! What an inspiration. We first met Meredith through her sister Jennifer, the lovely bride we photographed back in May. Looks like the gene for lovely lovebirds runs in the family! Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? Well, I do. This weekend I went down to LA to photograph the wedding of these lovely ladies. It was AMAZING. I had so much fun, the wedding was beyond gorgeous. This is my first favorite image that really stood out to me. There will be many more to come soon.

 This fall has been so fruitful for us when it comes to family portraits. We’re so thankful for happy families and our beautiful local landscape! The Kmiec family met us out on Sauvie Island at Kruger’s Farm a while back for a family portrait session, with little baby V taking center stage for much of the time. (How could she not?  I’m so excited about my trip to LA this weekend to photography Dayna and Ember’s Wedding! It’s going to be awesome! I took this sweet photo of the two of them during their engagement while they visited Dayna’s sister and family here in Portland.
