Anniversary Portraits – Cathedral Park

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on August 20th, 2015

Photography has many purposes in the world. My favorite happens to be it’s ability to stop a moment in time so that we can reflect on our lives and our many blessings as the days and years fly by at breakneck speeds. As a way of honoring their 5 years together Celeste and Sara met up with me at Cathedral Park for a couples portrait session. Last fall we worked together for the first time when I photographed the two of them with their adorable baby “E” at the Hoyt Arboretum.

In fact, we couldn’t help but put that little dude in a few sweet shots at this session with his mamas. But mostly we stuck to couple portraits, as parents it seems we often forget to have portraits taken without our darling littles.

In a summer that has been filled with sunny days we managed to book our session on the one rainy day in July – their actual anniversary. Luckily, we were able to make it work. In fact, we got some extra cool shots because of our soggy afternoon. We just put our adventure hats on and went for it! Running around in the rains is actually pretty fun. Particularly when you’re with a laid back, “rolling with it” kind of couple such as these two.

Happy Anniversary Celeste and Sara!

Family Portraits with a new puppy! North Portland home

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on August 13th, 2015

What can I say? I have an amazing job! I get to hang out with super fun people and in this case, their pet. An adorable 7 month old puppy named Gimlet to be exact.

I arrived at Colleen & Susan’s inviting North Portland home on a warm summer evening and was met with open arms. We immediately hit it off and by the end of the evening it felt like we were old friends. This warm fuzzy feeling created just the right atmosphere for capturing beautiful portraits of this loving family at home.

These two women seriously could not love their sweet puppy more! I had a fabulous time memorializing Gimlet frolicking around the home and yard with her two moms giggling right beside her.

We all had a wonderful time and caught some charming and natural moments that I absolutely loved. Colleen and Susan picked out an awesome selection of prints to brighten the halls of their home!
