Mini sessions for a cause – Toys for Tots toyraiser

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on December 26th, 2013

In November, our downtown studio was transformed into a winter wonderland, the space for a very special holiday portrait event benefitting Toys for Tots. In exchange for one unwrapped toy for a child who might not otherwise get a toy for Christmas, we offered children’s portrait mini-sessions, 20 or so minutes each, to feature in this year’s holiday cards or as gifts for loved ones this season.

It was so great to see my clients turn out with toys in hand to benefit the less fortunate kids out there this holiday season, and the images we captured were really lovely.

Many thanks to all my clients who helped make this Christmas a lot brighter for a big handful of Portland kiddos – you guys have made my season that much brighter, too.

Family Portraits just in time for the holidays! SE Portland

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on December 18th, 2013

Susan and Dan were in town from California for Thanksgiving, visiting their kids and granddaughter, so the whole family decided to fit in a portrait session while here. What a great idea! One of my favorite things about working as a family portrait photographer over the holidays is getting to photograph extended families, often together for the first time in years, as they reunite to celebrate the season. This crew had so much fun; they really made my job a breeze! We all met under the St. Johns Bridge at Cathedral Park on a cold but clear day, and we had fun staying warm by running around the park to find interesting spots for portrait backdrops. It was a really great day, and I couldn’t appreciate Susan, Dan and family more for inviting me to capture their family giving thanks for each other and having a blast.

Family Portraits – Portland, Oregon

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on December 16th, 2013

Long-term family portrait clients are really fun to work with because I get to watch them grow and develop as the years go by. I have one such relationship with Theresa, Brian and kids, with the littlest member of the family – the adorable Baby P – having taken center stage for the camera when she was just a lil’ bump. I love working with these guys!! This time, we met on a chilly fall morning for a portrait session at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, snapping some fresh shots of the whole family to have new portraits ready in time for Holiday cards and gift prints this year. We braved the weather but it was definitely worth it, as Theresa, Brian and the little ones are looking better than ever; I love their outfits, too – they coordinated perfectly! Theresa & Brian are a serious power couple, running their own real estate business – JMA Properties in NE Portland – along with a household together. Thanks to the whole family for allowing me to keep up with them as the family grows together; it’s such a privilege!
