Wedding Photography – Cannon Beach, OR

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on April 25th, 2013

Amazingly bouncy! Look at how cute these two are.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love my job! I get a chance to work with and celebrate so many great people.
When Ashley and Avery asked me to photograph their sweet little wedding ceremony on the coast I was thrilled! I know Ashley from her business, Simply Green Cleaning.
I met up with the two of them at the Surfsand Resort and we ran between the rain drops on the coast in Cannon Beach for a perfectly wonderful portrait session just before they officially tied the knot. Then, surrounded by a small group of friends and family they were declared husband and wife. It was a beautiful moment and I was honored to witness this momentous occasion.
Congratulations you crazy kids!

Baby Portraits – Mt. Tabor SE Portland

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on April 19th, 2013

I just love a good follow up portrait session! I recently photographed Brian, Kate and beautiful baby E for her 1st birthday. I even brought the little cutie a balloon that she really seemed to love. But what she loves the most is showing off her new walking skills!
I worked with Kate & Brian a few years ago with wedding photography at their elegant wedding in the Hotel Vintage Plaza wine cellar.
Once their little one arrived I captured her awesome newness with newborn potraits.
And now this gorgeous little gal has been on earth for a full year!
I met up with this threesome on a lovely spring day at Mt. Tabor in SE Portland for a fun portrait session and we captured another landmark moment in the life of this sweet little family.

Sunset Family Portraits – Washington, DC

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on April 9th, 2013

Spring-portraitsI spent all afternoon park-scouting in Washington, D.C. looking for the perfect spot to photograph my old friends Chuck & Amy and their adorable little one, precious nearly two-year-old toddler R. I was so excited when I finally found the perfect place, the Lyndon B. Johnson Memorial Grove on the Potomac…it was sunset and just the place, filled with evergreens and lit up magically during golden hour. Chuck and I go way back, having worked together 20 years ago at a record store in old town Alexandria, Virginia, so suffice to say, it was GREAT seeing him again, and his wonderful wife Amy too! It was my first time meeting little R, who is so adorable I can’t even tell you…always on the move and giggling to no end, he was just delightful! We had so much fun together, and the portrait session was such a joy. Thanks to Chuck & Amy for allowing me to capture the terrific trio that is their family, and for introducing me to their adorable little one.¬†

Family Portraits in the Park – Silver Springs, MD

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on April 8th, 2013

family-photographyDuring my recent jaunt to the East Coast, I was thrilled to be able to get together with my old friend Emily, who along with hubby Mick and their two little girls, was looking to have some updated family portraits taken. We hit two birds with one stone, catching up while meeting at Brookside Gardens for a fun family portrait session. Emily & I grew up together in Falls Church, VA, so we had lots of catching up to do, it was so great seeing her after all these years (the last I saw her was at our mutual friends’ Scarlett & Dee’s wedding five years ago!). It was such a pretty day, and we were lucky enough to enjoy some wonderful East Coast springiness (it was cold and wintry most of the time). Little miss M was such a bundle of energy, which is no surprise compared to younger sister baby S, whose chill, relaxed demeanor reminded me of a little baby Buddha. It was so great seeing Emily again and getting to know her wonderful family…can’t wait to reunite next time, guys!¬†

50th Anniversary – Extended Family Portraits – Vancouver, WA

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on April 5th, 2013

50th-Anniversary-Couple-Portraitsextended-family-portraitfamily-portraitsLarry & Marilou are a Vancouver couple who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver. They were referred my way by Stephanie, a friend and client whose wedding I photographed last September. Stephanie works at Royal Oaks, so when Larry & Marilou asked her about a photographer who could shoot their party and, most importantly, an extended family portrait session with their three kids and a gaggle of grandchildren of all ages, from what seemed like 8 weeks to 18. We met up with the whole extended fam an hour before the party to shoot their family portraits. It was a beautiful spring night in Vancouver, a perfect evening to celebrate a perfect affair on the actual anniversary of Larry & Marilou’s 50 years of marriage. Congrats to this terrific couple for their half-century of love and life together, and thanks for the privilege of photographing such an expansive and loving family.
