Outdoor Family Portrait Photography – Portland, OR

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on August 30th, 2012

We were introduced to the fabulous Elkins family through our favorite hair and makeup maven Amanda Florio-Everly (of Pretty in Portland), so it came as no surprise that we hit it off instantly. Jennie and Tom and their adorable little son M joined me recently for a family portrait shoot at the Rhododendron Gardens (my fave) at Crystal Springs Park in SE Portland, and we had so much fun taking advantage of the location’s many varied backdrops, from footbridges to forests to flowers and quaint ponds…plus, little M couldn’t get enough of the ducks and geese (whether the feeling was mutual is not so clear ;) and kids + friendly waterfowl always = adorable photo ops. Family Portrait Photography – SE Portland, OR

The Karneus family is a group of four fantastic people, and I’ve been so lucky over the past year or so that they’ve become regular clients. I just love photographing all of them, whether together (as in this most recent family portrait session) or separate (I first shot recent high school grad Louise’s senior portraits last year before being embraced by the whole family!). This time around, parents Peter and Jean wanted to have a session to capture the four of them together for the last time before Louise packs up and jumps the nest, heading off to college in the fall. Family Portraits – Sauvie Island

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on August 9th, 2012

Some people and places were just made for beautiful photography. I feel this way about these people and this place.
I met up with Karyn, Jim and the kids at Kruger’s Farm on Sauvie Island one gorgeous summer night for family portraits.
We had a great time, the light was stunning and (oh my gosh) what a beautiful family.

The Rosemary Ragusa Photography Experience Video

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on August 9th, 2012

I’m so EXCITED to share this video with you all! My friend Karyn of Black Label Films and I put it together. It gives you a quick look at what it’s like to have a portrait session with me. Staring some very favorite subjects of mine, adorable little Nigel and his beautiful Mommy Amanda! We filmed this one glorious summer night at Laurelhurst park and in my office at the Ford building in Southeast Portland. The music is by Elizabeth Mitchell from the band Ida, an all-time favorite of mine. Watch and enjoy!

Also, below are just a few of the super adorable shots I got that night at our session.kid-portraits-Portland

Courthouse Wedding Photography – Downtown Portland

Posted by Rosemary Ragusa on August 8th, 2012

Maybe it’s that I love a good Courthouse wedding, or maybe it was the warm, fuzzy feeling I got watching Angie and Andy tie the knot, whatever it was – this was one of my favorite shoots all year!
Here’s what happened…
I arrived at the courthouse at 12:45. Angie sends a text saying she’ll meet me in a minute. A few minutes pass, Andy shows up sans bride.
Andy informs me that all of the parents have created a human shield so that Angie can pop into her wedding dress in the parking garage! Hahaha, these are my kinda people.
Everyone arrives on time and the ceremony goes on without a hitch.
After the ceremony, Angie & Andy spent some time playing around downtown while I captured the memories.
I just love these two and am so happy for them!
Congratulations Andy & Angie, have a FABULOUS honeymoon.
