We love few things more about the Portland area than the month of October, which each year brings with it the promise of warm, sunny days & cool, crisp nights, trips to the pumpkin patch and the changing of the leaves. Our favorite place to spend a weekend day in October is Sauvie Island, where city folk like us retreat to enjoy the sudden arrival of fall in all its glory. We recently met up with the Buchman family at Kruger’s Farm Market, where the grounds offer the full splendid spectrum of fall scenery. Big brother J was jumping up and down with excitement at the prospect of seeing a big red tractor, so he was all smiles. Little sis B, fresh from napping in the car, needed a little more time to warm up to the camera, but once she got into her groove, she was a perfect little model. Mom and dad were wonderful subjects too, with the family exuding an unconditional love for each other that made the whole shoot so comfortable and relaxed. They even brought some locally brewed beer they’d picked up earlier in their day’s adventure to share with us after the portrait session, which of course we happily accepted. Cheers to the Buchman family! To see all of our favorites from the day take a look at the gallery. (more…)
