This weekend I photographed the Commitment Ceremony of Matt & Mark at the View Point Inn overlooking the beautiful Columbia Gorge. It was an absolutely elegant affair! I will post more photos from the event in a few weeks, but thought I’d show off a favorite of the boys in the meantime.

I really value few things more in my photography business than developing long-lasting relationships with families and capturing their evolution as time goes by. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing proud parents’ eyes light up each time I show them the latest round of images from a recent session, helping mom & dad chart the progress of their little ones through the timeless art of photography.
This is the Allan Family. I’ve been photographing them since Brad & Naomi’s wedding in 2006. Since little baby C was born, I’ve had the privilege of capturing him in action as well. With a new little munchkin on the way, Brad & Naomi wanted one last session with little C alone, before life changes forever and he becomes a big brother. We went to one of their favorite parks in Sherwood for the session, and the weather cooperated just right. With selected images from this session and those that preceded, we will be creating a portrait book to commemorate his first year. It is so wonderful to help Brad & Naomi chronicle their family’s progress, and I just can’t wait for the next little one to arrive so we can see what personality they have in store. I just love this time of year, especially in Portland, when winter has finally surrendered to the sunny days and blossoming flowers of springtime. Plus, it’s the beginning of wedding season! One of the weddings I’m shooting this summer will be Julie & Ken’s. The couple is getting married this summer on the Oregon Coast in what is sure to be a spectacular ceremony, an intimate affair with their kids, family and dearest friends gathered at Cape Lookout to witness Julie & Ken say “I do.” I know Julie through my beloved Bootcamp; she’s a marine biologist, so a coastal wedding seems perfectly suited. In the meantime, I recently met with the soon-to-be newlyweds for their engagement session at the Rose Garden, which is just bursting with color thanks to the cherry blossoms in full bloom. While the colors from their session are awesome, Julie & Ken really love the black-and-white shots best, as these images capture the intimate nature of their special relationship. Many thanks to Julie & Ken for the fantastic engagement shoot (you can check out the rest of their session in the gallery)…can’t wait for the big day later this summer!
My Friend Suzi, designer of Souchi, just got a new puppy! He’s soooooo cute! Don’tcha think?
This family is SO sweet and fun to be around that it hardly seems like work to stroll through the park with them documenting their fabulousness! Luckily for me, that IS my job and it’s such a pleasure. Beth, Daniel, and I got some exercise chasing down these two adorable monkeys for photos. In the end I got some great photos of the kids doing what they do best, playing!
