Wedding Photography in Los Angeles – Dayna & Ember tie the knot!

I love to travel, and I love photographing weddings. When the two come together it couldn’t be better for me! I met Dayna and Ember a little over a year ago when they were in town visiting Dayna’s sister and our client Marti. We had a fabulous family portrait session that day. Dayna and Ember were excited about their recent engagement. When they were planning the details of their wedding they thoughtfully asked me if I would be interested in a destination wedding photography gig! I was thrilled to be asked and even more elated when they hired me! So, I packed up my gear, and got on a plane to sunny Los Angeles. The weather cooperated nicely, it was a pleasantly warm day in southern California. The wedding was perfect. The ladies put so many delightful details into the day. A favorite: the neon sign they had made for the day with their names and the date, such a great idea – what a fun thing to have around the house for years to come. Dayna and Ember skillfully incorporated the traditions of their Jewish faith with festive modern twists. I was completely enraptured by their moonlit ceremony, it was absolutely lovely. Please enjoy my favorite images from the day by watching the slideshow.

Family Portraits at Home – Portland, OR

We just love photographing families at home in their element… especially around the holidays! Marti & Lev are a wonderful local couple whose first baby, the precocious little M., we photographed a year-and-a-half ago. Now, big brother is 2 and he’s got a little brother, adorable baby J., nipping at his heels. We shot the whole extended family together last year around this time (including sister Dayna, whose beautiful wedding we just photographed in L.A.!), but for 2010, it’s just this fantastic foursome doing their thing at home.

Lensbaby Video Shoot – Senior Portrait Photography, Portland OR

The fantastic folks at Lensbaby recently recruited us to help them out with a little favor: they’ve designed a fantastic kit of lenses, apertures and a few other photographic flourishes specifically for senior portrait photographers (like us!), and they asked us to “star” in a video featuring Lensbaby products in use on the job. So, in what surely will be an Academy Award-winning performance, yours truly really stretched the acting chops to play, well, Rosemary Ragusa! Our lovely intern Anna and the handsome high school tubist extraordinaire Johnny graciously stood in as the seniors being photographed in the Lensbaby video, and here’s a peek at a couple of the shots we took during the day-long video shoot. The whole thing was a lot of fun to be involved with. Thanks, Lensbaby!

Portrait Photography – Portland, OR

The lovely Beverly Markstrom, a new friend we met through Daniel Iversen’s incredible Portland Boot Camp, recently came into the studio for a portrait session. She wanted to have some photos taken to give as gifts to friends and family, so we had beautiful Bev come for a session and the results are just magnificent. Not only is Ms. Markstrom the CEO of Interface Engineering, the local sustainable design company, she’s also one heck of a great model.
