In case you’ve been living under a rock (or don’t keep up on the latest trends from local designers), the first week in October is finally here – hello?! It’s Fashion Week in Portland! All the collections from a handful of Portland’s most elite designers are getting finishing touches as we speak, with opening night just 24 hours away. We can’t wait to see what’s on trend for Spring 2011 from all the designers, but we were lucky enough to get an early peek at one of the hottest lines set to hit the runway this week. We’re such huge fans of Souchi, Suzi Johnson’s trés chic luxury boutique, and we were thrilled to photograph Souchi’s Spring 2011 line a few weeks ago, promising to keep our lips sealed about what the knitwear genius Suzi has in store for the Fashion Week runway. We can hardly wait until Sunday, when Souchi Spring 2011 hits the catwalk for Portland Fashion Week’s finale runway show…so exciting to see fashion in action! Check out Suzi hard at work, front and center in The Oregonian’s Fashion Week coverage…she’s putting the finishing touches on a gorgeous hand loomed silk yarn dress, just one of the 24 looks you’ll see coming down the runway when Souchi Spring 2011 debuts this Sunday night.

This past Saturday was SO gorgeous. The perfect day for a wedding on the roof of the fabulous Ecotrust building in NW Portland. Andrew and Hanne had a simple and elegant affair with their family and close friends. During our portrait session before the ceremony, I captured this moment. They look so happy and full of love… and that BLUE sky! I’ll be remembering it fondly over these dark months ahead.

Our annual Late Summer Beach Portrait weekend last month in gorgeous Gearhart, OR was so great this year, with several of our favorite longtime clients and a few lovely newbies joining us on the coast to take advantage of the wonderful September weather and stunning coastal scenery. Mary Rondthaler, the queen of organization and a famed local musician, has been a client of ours for years now, and we always love photographing her in any setting. This time, Mary brought her lifelong BFF Sharla along so we could capture the unique and natural friendship these two lovely women have shared for decades. Here’s to Mary and Sharla, living proof that some relationships really do last forever. Check out the rest of their shots in the gallery!

One of our favorite sessions from the wonderful weekend of beach portraits in Gearhart last month came courtesy of the fabulous Susan Finch and her charming children. Susan is a member of my BNI group and we’ve always had a great connection. She and her two teens brought their hilarious dog Blazer along for their beach adventure, and the four of them made up a fantastic quartet of portrait subjects.
